This is a concept work

Since I was very young I have always been fascinated (obsessed?) by the Swan Lake's main theme, which impresses and moves me at every listening. Was also "guilty" the soundtrack of Dracula made in 1931 starring Bela Lugosi, seen when I was 14 and I was immersing myself in the Goth imagery.

Last summer I bought one of those toy hand-cranked table music boxes playing the "Lake" main theme.

I then recorded and looped very small portions of notes with the cut-up technique or rather the "excellent corpse": that is, proceeding randomly and picking up exactly from the point where I had interrupted the recording of the previous portion, so as to find a series of fragments of melody as casual as consequential.

The next step was improvisation in multilayered recordings with bass, Melodica Hohner, Olla’s Mini sound-table, various objects and noises.

How to "dismember" and dissect an original corpus from which to give birth to new "creatures" with their own personality and life, "other" than the body of origin. Many little black swans to embrace and lead to death.
